Feltrinelli Porta Volta hosts the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation and the Microsoft House, and is the first Italian building designed by Herzog & de Meuron. Its innovative spaces are opened to companies, students and citizens, with many public places including a café, integrated multi-use cultural spaces, a linear green park and a play area for children. Feltrinelli Porta Volta is a vibrant landmark between the iconic Porta Nuova district and Milan city centre and represents an innovative civic project, giving back a redeveloped, usable and living environment which functions as the perfect combination of cultural and technological hub to and for the city.
Thanks to the know-how and technical expertise related to the management of the main projects of the Italian real estate market carried out in recent years, COIMA has led a team of national and international stakeholders, with the aim of guaranteeing product quality and achieving time and cost objectives for the construction of the two buildings and the subsequent management. COIMA also managed the preparatory phases for the configuration of the Feltrinelli Foundation spaces, the relative offices and spaces open to the public - bookstore, reading room, multi-purpose room - as well as the negotiation process with Microsoft, in dialogue with Italian and European representatives in a smart working optic waiting for the client.
Particular attention was paid to the planning of urban activities and dialogue with the Public Administration, ensuring maximum coordination for the construction of green areas, boulevards and cycle paths, for a total of 17,000 square meters, and thus contributing significantly, to the enhancement of the Porta Volta area.
